Crimson & K.E.
KE dedicated 29 years to serving as a paramedic. In 2011, her life changed dramatically when she was assaulted by a patient, resulting in severe spinal and head injuries. Soon after, KE began experiencing unexpected falls and initially thought her dog was accidentally knocking her over. It became clear, however, that her dog was naturally alerting to atypical seizures during which KE remained awake and alert but lost function in her legs. This realization marked the beginning of her journey with service dogs. Last year, KE faced another devastating blow with the loss of her husband, her main support system. Her current service dog, a crucial part of her daily life, was recently diagnosed with Addison’s disease and will need to retire soon. Fortunately, Mission Service Dog has paired KE with Crimson, a golden retriever trained to assist with stability, pick up dropped items, and alert her to seizures. KE now needs help fundraising to cover the costs of Crimson's training. Your support will enable KE to maintain her independence and safety. Thank you for considering a donation to this vital cause and for taking the time to learn about KE's story.

Archer & P.A.
PA is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an Intelligence Specialist and Korean Linguist, stationed in Hawaii with the 3rd Radio Battalion. During his service, PA was diagnosed with PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and Anxiety, conditions that were later confirmed as service-connected disabilities by the VA. In addition, he suffers from chronic back, shoulder, and knee pain due to the physical demands of military life. A service dog would be life-changing for PA, offering crucial assistance both physically and mentally. The dog would aid with mobility and retrieving items, helping him manage everyday tasks that are difficult due to chronic pain. More importantly, the service dog would provide support during depressive episodes, anxiety attacks, and even severe nightmares—where PA sometimes lashes out in his sleep, putting loved ones at risk. A service dog could intervene and provide comfort, ensuring a safer environment at home. PA and his wife, Maddie, have been married for seven years. They met while serving in the military, and Maddie has been by his side through the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. Both work at CRMC—Maddie in the lab, and PA in public health, helping others find affordable health insurance and healthcare services. They share their home with their beloved dog, Buzz, whom they adopted from Black Dog Animal Rescue. While Buzz is a cherished family member, he isn’t trained to assist with PA’s specific needs. When PA learned about Mission Service Dog, it felt like the perfect opportunity to improve his quality of life. The service dog would provide the specialized support he needs to manage both his physical pain and mental health struggles, giving him greater independence and peace of mind. However, training a service dog is a significant investment, and PA and Maddie are asking for your support. Your donation will help cover the costs of training a service dog for PA, allowing him to live more freely and manage his conditions more effectively. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings PA one step closer to a brighter future with the support he needs. Thank you for considering a donation and for supporting veterans like PA who continue to face challenges long after their service ends.

TBD & A.J.
AJ was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was just 3 and 1/2 years old. Despite this challenging condition, he remains a fun-loving, energetic boy who is always on the go! AJ loves all things sports and plays baseball, and he is about to start flag football. He also enjoys going to the movies and coloring. Although managing diabetes can be tough, AJ has met the challenge head-on, and his resilience shines through. A diabetic alert dog would significantly enhance AJ's quality of life. These specially trained dogs can detect changes in blood sugar levels before they become dangerous, providing an early warning system that could prevent serious health complications. This would allow AJ to focus more on being a kid and enjoying his favorite activities without constantly worrying about his diabetes. With a diabetic alert dog by his side, AJ would have greater independence and peace of mind, knowing he has an extra layer of support and safety. Your support can make a tremendous difference in AJ's life, helping to fund the training and acquisition of this vital companion. Thank you for considering a donation to support AJ's journey and for helping him lead a healthier, happier life.

Lana & K.S.
KS is an Air Force veteran with 12 years of dedicated service to our country. However, like many veterans, KS faces ongoing challenges with anxiety and depression that can often interfere with daily life and work. The impact of anxiety and depression is profound and far-reaching. It affects not only KS's mental and emotional well-being but also her ability to function effectively in her professional life. Simple tasks can become overwhelming, and the constant battle with these conditions can be exhausting. This is where Lana comes in. Lana is not just a companion; she is training to be a service dog who will be specially trained to assist KS during times of need. When KS experiences panic attacks, Lana is there to provide comfort and support, helping her regain control and peace of mind. Lana also plays a crucial role in grounding KS when she has uncontrolled trembling, a common symptom of her condition. Moreover, Lana will be trained to remind KS to take her medications on time, ensuring that she stays on track with her treatment plan and maintains her overall health and well-being. Lana's presence is a constant source of reassurance and stability in KS's life, giving her the strength and confidence to face each day with courage and resilience. However, the training that Lana requires comes with significant costs. From specialized training sessions to ongoing support, the expenses quickly add up. As a veteran navigating the challenges of anxiety and depression, these costs can be overwhelming and burdensome. This is why KS is reaching out to you today. She humbly asks for your support in helping her provide the best possible care for Lana so that Lana can continue to be by her side, offering invaluable assistance and companionship. Your generous donations will directly contribute to Lana's training, ensuring that she remains well-equipped to support KS during her times of need. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Your support is not just a financial investment; it is a gesture of compassion and solidarity with veterans like KS who are navigating the challenges of mental health conditions. Together, we can make a positive impact and ensure that Lana and KS have the resources they need to thrive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering KS's request and for your ongoing support of veterans' well-being.
