Help Katie Keep This Little Boy Safe from Life-Threatening Allergies

This adventurous little boy lights up the world around him. He loves being outside, fishing (his absolute favorite!), playing at the park, and cheering for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He’ll be four soon, and like most kids his age, his days are filled with imagination—building with Legos, watching Paw Patrol and Bolt, and playing with his cat, Eevee.

But unlike most kids, his life is shaped by a severe, life-threatening food allergy.

Even trace amounts of a specific food—often hidden or cross-contaminated in restaurants—can send him to the hospital. His family works tirelessly to keep him safe, but eating out, school events, and everyday experiences carry constant risk. They’ve had frightening close calls, and the anxiety never truly goes away.

That’s where Katie, a smart and loving Labrador in training, comes in.

Katie is learning to detect the presence of the specific allergen that threatens his life. She’ll be trained to alert before he eats contaminated food—adding a powerful layer of protection that could prevent future hospital visits or worse. With Katie by his side, this little boy can gain more independence and confidence, and his family can breathe just a little easier.

He already adores animals—especially Katie and Eevee—and can’t wait for the day Katie becomes his full-time service dog and best friend.
