The world has been a scary and unpredictable place for A.P.
With a brain wired a bit differently, this sweet 9-year-old experiences life in unique ways that make everyday moments, like going to the store or attending a family outing, feel overwhelming and, at times, impossible. She craves routine, predictability, and calm, yet her senses often betray her. Sounds, smells, and sudden changes can flood her nervous system and send her straight into fight-or-flight, turning what should be fun into something terrifying.
Even a quick grocery run can feel like chaos turned up too loud, voices blending together, bright lights stabbing her eyes, music that feels like noise instead of joy, the scent of candles making her gag, a squeaky cart wheel, her brothers excitement all colliding until her body shuts down.

These aren’t tantrums. They’re not misbehavior. They’re her nervous system crying out for safety in a world that often feels too big and too bright.
Once upon a time, life made sense. It felt safe. A.P. had a mom-and-dad team to help her regulate, to share the load when things became too much. But two years ago, cancer took her dad, and with him went her sense of stability and security.
Now her mom does everything she can, balancing grief, single parenting, and supporting A.P. through a world that overwhelms her more each day. But there’s still one less pair of arms to help her through the storms, one less steady voice reminding her that she’s safe.
That's where Libby comes in.

Libby is a soft-eyed golden retriever who already knows exactly what to do. She can climb into a shaking lap, press her warm weight across a panicked body, and stay there until the calm returns. She can stand between A.P. and a crowded aisle, creating a bubble of peace no one else can offer. She can tether close so wandering doesn’t happen, nudge a frozen hand, block a doorway, and stay; until a little girl remembers how to breathe again.
A.P. has been waiting more than six months to be paired with the right service dog. Now, at last, she’s found her perfect match.

As of today, we’re just $3,000 away from making that match a reality - covering Libby’s final advanced training, vet care, and travel home before December 25th.
Three thousand dollars is all that stands between a nine-year-old who breaks down from sensory overload, and the one furry companion who can calm her storms without saying a word.
A.P. has big dreams and a beautiful heart. If you’ve ever wished you could change a child’s world, and help give them a better future this is your chance. Every gift, even a small donation of $10, $20, or $100 helps brings Libby one step closer to the girl who needs her most.

Donate to “Mission: Service Dog” today, and let’s give A.P. a Christmas morning where the world finally feels quiet enough, safe enough, and loving enough for her to just be nine.
And let’s give her the surprise of a lifetime: waking up to discover there’s someone new who will always, always choose her - no matter how loud the world gets.
