Meet AP, a bright and imaginative 9-year-old who lights up every room she walks into. She’s creative, funny, and endlessly curious—always inventing new stories, songs, or projects that fill her home with laughter. Whether she’s drawing, building something from her imagination, or spending time with her new bunny, Marbles, her joyful spirit shines through everything she does.

But behind her cheerful spirit, AP’s journey has not been easy. In the wake of her father’s passing from cancer, AP and her family have been navigating deep grief and significant life changes. The loss has been hard on everyone, but especially on her tender heart. Since that time, her sensory challenges and anxiety have grown more intense, making it difficult for her to feel safe or grounded in daily life.

Her mother, now raising AP and her younger brother on her own, does everything possible to create stability and peace at home—but the world can still feel overwhelming for a little girl working through so much.

That’s where a service dog will make all the difference.

🦮 How a Service Dog Will Help AP

A highly trained service dog will be AP’s steady companion—helping her feel grounded, safe, and supported no matter what environment she’s in. The dog will be trained to recognize early signs of sensory overload and provide deep-pressure therapy to calm her body, interrupt meltdowns before they escalate, and help her feel secure in busy or noisy places.

This dog will not only give her emotional stability, but also help prevent her from wandering or getting lost during moments of anxiety or distraction. For a child like AP, that level of safety and consistency can be life-changing. It means more independence, more confidence, and the ability to participate in everyday life without fear.

🌟 A Brighter Future Within Reach

Right now, AP’s world is smaller than she wants it to be. Crowded stores, loud events, and unpredictable places can quickly become overwhelming. Her family often has to skip outings like museums, theme parks, or concerts that most children look forward to.

With a service dog by her side, those doors begin to open again. She dreams of visiting Disney World one day—or even dancing her heart out at a Taylor Swift concert—and with the help of her future service dog, those dreams could finally become reality.

🐩 The Next Step

Mission: Service Dog has identified a poodle puppy in Florida who is a perfect match for AP’s training needs. Poodles are known for their intelligence, gentle nature, and low-shedding coats—making them ideal partners for children with sensory sensitivities.

We are currently raising funds to bring this puppy home and begin its specialized training journey to become AP’s service dog. Every donation goes directly toward the cost of the puppy, veterinary care, early socialization, and professional training that will prepare this dog to meet AP’s unique needs.
